Galloping Geezer
It feels strange putting out this newsletter without the usual contribution from our Galloping Geezer,
Jack Downey. Jack's unique insight has brought many a chuckle and much food for thought over the years.
Earlier this year, Jack suffered two major heart attacks, and then, just after being released from the
hospital a bad fall, which put him back into the hospital. Shortly after his release from hospital the
second time, Jack was diagnosed with severe depression (not surprising after what he has been through).
Jack is now back in hospital and the outlook is not good.
If you would like to send your best wishes for Jack to
, we will print your message and ensure
that it gets to Jack.
We'll keep you posted on Jack's progress. We all miss him and pray that he will be feeling better soon.
In the mean time, read some of Jack's amazing stories (106!) - Click here

Why are some good ideas always opposed by other parties
I really only have one concern with my country. It is the politicians. I myself want to be one when I get older(currently 20), but from what I have seen they are all the same. I have yet to see a politician who is in the game for his/her country. It seems to me that they all just care about discrediting the other parties and getting themselves elected. What makes a good politician is someone who loves their country above all else and wants nothing but the best for it. That is what they are lacking today....pride in their country. Alls they can do is badmouth the other parties to get votes. They have lost touch with the common Canadian and it is hurting their already fragile image.
Why do the parties always diagree on issues? Not matter what the issue. It could be the greatest suggstion ever but one party has to be against it. I guess that is just the rule today in politics.

South Eastern Canadians
I enjoy your items of Western interest. Souther Eastern Canadians, that
is the parts of Canada below the 49th parrallel, have about 70 % of the
poputlation and are all below 1,000 feet of elevation. I would like to see
more of the media refer to them as South Eastern Canadians instead of
Eastern Canadians.
