Major Water Crises in this Century!
You have heard of Walkerton ON and now Langley BC. Canadians are all facing major water crises in this century. All major cities are looking for new Dam sites; Vancouver Island is now in a restricted development phase as its water supply (in Rain Forest Country) is limited. Canadians are not aware, that, due to our geological make up our major watersheds are flowing north and that our populated belt extending 200 miles north of the USA border is fast approaching it's watershed limits. Canadians Can Make a Difference to Wildlife!
Fellow Canadians, I'd like to share with you my
concerns about one of this year's most important
environmental issues: oil and gas drilling
in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
While the ANWR is an American protected area,
Canadians have a global role to play in environmental
protection. Our tremendous range of natural areas give
us a special appreciation for the role of nature in
our modern culture. See full Story

Book of the Week
Inuksuit
by Norman Hallendy
The Arctic’s enigmatic stone figures, Inuksuit can be seen across the circumpolar world. Each distinctive one is built from stones at hand. Powerful and haunting, they are among the oldest, most significant human objects in the Arctic landscape, symbolizing the Inuit. Norman Hallendy learned through friendships with Inuit elders that Inuksuit are subtle, intricate and crucial communication forms, from objects of veneration to navigational aids to informational tools for hunting, food and supplies. Inuksuit: Silent Messengers of the Arctic presents more than 50 dramatic colour photographs and engaging text inviting us to explore the enchanting Arctic landscape.
