Support Canadian filmmaking
Send us your thoughts or concerns how to improve our country.
The Alliance theatre chain is already trying to do this, to a degree, and so God bless them, to a degree: I would support Canadian filmmaking. So far, we have a poor film industry. The majority of our serious talent migrates South for work. Those who stay, out of loyalty or a desire to be biger fish in our smaller pond, suffer from indifference. The audience is unaware of them, and the industry affords them little respect.
Even when RED VIOLIN got all the praise it did, including foreign (ie US) attention, it enjoyed little advertising and only "art house" dustrubution. When it came out on DVD, it was "formatted to fit your television." The majority of Canadian films come out and disappear in a haze of no advertising. When they are gone, there is little or poor evidence that they ever were. Our nation has ministries at work to promote Canadian culure. What are they doing? As for the distribution houses in Canada: shame on you. Advertising works! Use it! Even the DVD for JOE DIRT has deleted scenes, extra bits, theatrical aspect ratio, all the usual bells and whistles. US corporations get behind even their worst products 100% ! This is among the reasons their products are successful. Take the lesson!
Rant over.

Pen Pals Wanted
People really need to know more about Canadians, their ideas and how they live; especially in Korea. I am a Canadian working as an EFL teacher trainer.
I meet many secondary Korean English teachers.
Now and then, some Korean students want pen pals or key pals as they are frequently called today.
If any teachers are interested, please send me an email at jmcorbettjr@yahoo.com.
