So Much for Bilingualisim
A Swiss man, looking for directions, pulls up at a bus stop
where two Americans are waiting. "Entschuldigung, koennen
Sie Deutsch sprechen?" he asks. The two Americans just stare
at him.
"Excusez-moi, parlez vous Francais?" he tries. The two
continue to stare.
"Parlare Italiano?" No response.
"Hablan ustedes Espanol?" Still nothing.
The Swiss guy drives off, extremely disgusted. The first
American turns to the second and says, "Y'know, maybe we
should learn a foreign language."
"Why?" says the other. "That guy knew four languages, and it
didn't do him any good."

this book is absoloutely, by far one of my favorite books. in it there is sooo much information but when you read it, it is very short. it has facts and stories about explorers, heroes, founders of places and things and much more. But, most of all i like how if young canadians read this they will find out and know their canadian history and they will have alot of knowledge if they read this one book.
2. Brings history ALIVE!! for kids

Canadian Biography for Young Readers, Early Canada has really fired up my children's interest in history. We read at least one chapter aloud (taking turns) every night as a family. The kids (14 and 12) really have started to see these historical figures as real people with families struggles, triumphs and failures. Sparked a lot of good family discussions as well as more research. What are we going to do when we are done?
